Another one of Victor's post cards

Victor explained to me that this design -- from an ancient Aztec stela -- represents the Indians' belief that they sprang from the corn plant. This was their genesis, their creation.

It reminds me of the scene in "Pootie Tang" when Pootie (Lance Crouther)is down on the farm after the shame inflicted upon him by Mr. Lecter (Robert Vaughan). As Pootie laments his inability to become one with the land, his father (Chris Rock) returns from the grave as a stalk of corn to whup Pootie's sad behind.
And the funny thing is, Victor would get that.
